Off to Austria

In the beginning of July, we went for a trip to Austria. And what other car then the M5 should be used for this occasion, right?

Being clumsy

Today, I had only one item on the to-do list. Changing the B pillar inner trims because the originals were a bit worn out. To do that, the edge protectors and door seals have to be partially removed. I installed both of these few days back. This fact has caused my level of caution transforming into a solid confidence, which led to a total damage of both rear edge protectors and left rear seal.

2017 season – plans

I have said already that the car went through some maintenance and restoration steps. It’s fairly ready for this summer season but still not perfect. In the following text, I summarize all steps that are coming. Not neccessarily before the summer but overall in the future. I don’t have to finish everything now, I have to have something to do over the winter, right? 🙂

The story of my M5 purchase

I don’t remember exactly when my M5 obsession had started. I’ve been into cars since my early childhood, and I was lucky enough to own some of my car heroes later. In 2003 I was watching Jeremy Clarkson’s DVD “Head to head”, when I was attracted to the part of a duel between Jaguar XJR and E39 M5. Jezza was driving the Jag, his Top Gear sparring partner – Tiff Needell – piloted the M5. And I know exactly, what made me love the M5. It was the sound.

M5 maintenance costs

I’ve owned the car for just a short while but after some of the investments and works, I might be probably able to tell you, how costly an M5 can be. This info is already known thanks to various BMW communities and websites, but some basic intro should be here too.
